"FMF", the letters are simply our initials, but they are the totems of our families; our legacies. Names that will remain and continue our journey...and now, a new facet of that journey is our well-appointed collection.
Like the legacies of our names and the very nature of our friendship through the years, we love things that look as if they have lived a little and been LOVED a lot; hence they are treasured enough to be passed on to stay within the family.  That truly is our dream....whatever you might purchase from FMF Compagnie, it is LOVED and settles in with your home and family and is in turn passed on to your next generation.
We have personally fallen in love with everything we sell.  Honestly, we have a hard time parting with some of our purchases!  That is the main criteria for us - "Would we want this in our homes?"  If our instinct is "yes, yes, yes", then it becomes part of our amazing collection!
Our treasures are antiques, vintage pieces, linens and fabrics that all were once designed by talented craftsmen from the past.  We search high and low mainly throughout England passing over streams, rolling hills, down country lanes and through cobblestone villages.  We love creating and having the privilege to re-design precious fabrics in to one-and-only pillows, unique furniture and our trademark lavender sachets.

It's true...........
Life is a culmination of our families, our friends, our experiences, our past, our present, our future and ultimately, what we believe.  If we allow it, our lives can be a beautiful collection; inspiring love, beauty, and wisdom.
While I thoroughly enjoy being a wife and mother, it was just today that my youngest son turned 21 years old and somehow, I feel that familiar reminiscence of my own early days asking myself questions about who I am and what is important to me in this life I've been given.  I honestly thing that each day answers itself and if we commit to being true to ourselves and true to what we believe; our lives will be an unrippled reflection of who we are supposed to be.
I was raised on a dairy farm in north central Wisconsin; something I consider a true bless.  Life on the farm taught me the value of hard work, responsibility, and commitment...all the while I was watching my mother and grandmother as they modeled for me, their own love of family, heritage, and legacy.  They loved antiques, gardening, and sewing; therein lays the seed for my own love of the same.
I love that being part of FMF Compagnie has afforded me the opportunity to fully enjoy the collection of my life experiences in antique imports, sewing, floral design, and my new favorite, furniture and fabric re-design.
And so, I believe that I am not only Mike's wife and the mother of our three adult children, Taylor, Nico, & Phillip, but now living a dream that was budding in me long ago.
Never stop believing..........

"I can't get over my disappointment in not being a boy!"  Jo in Little Women by Louisa Alcott
My mom and dad named me after the character Beth in Louisa Alcott's Little Women.  They were clear on my birth certificate it was to be just Beth - not Elizabeth.  I'm guessing they dreamed of a little girl - dainty, quiet, simple, a pleaser....but instead God gifted them with a handful and all tom boy.  My older brother was a huge influence!!  I'm sure as soon as I turned two, my mom realized she should have named me Jo rather than Beth!
"Ah, Thou giftest me such hope and courage and I half nothing to gift back but a full heart and these empty hand," cried the Professor, quite overcome.  Joe never, never would learn to be proper,, for when he said that as they stood upon the steps, she just put both hands into his, whispering tenderly, "Not empty now.  Little Women, Louisa Alcott
Like Jo, I married a kindred spirit and have been happily married for 29 years.
I wish wearing flat irons on our heads would keep us from growing up, but buds will be roses, and kittens, cats...."   Little Women, Louisa Alcott
I tried weights, but like that flat iron is not working in the March household, the weights didn't work in the McCluskey's!  We have three young adult children each venturing on their own path; Daryn Dree, Cody Kohl James, and Devan Leigh.
"Now and then, in this workaday world, things do happen in the delightful storybook fashion, and what a comfort that is."  Little Women, Louisa Alcott
For many years I juggled being a wife, mother and in the retail world....Yes, the world of 24-7.  My mom and I owned Yippie-Ei-O on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica, California, and in Scottsdale, Arizona, several Que Pasa and Yippie-Ei-O stores.  In 2002, my husband's career lead us to England where we have been truly blessed with special experiences in travel, lifestyle, food, friends, and education. Currently, we live in a charming village in the Cotswold's, and on weekends, we hunt for treasures while exploring the countryside.
My "storybook' beginning as Beth will finish simply as Jo!
"I couldn't seem to imagine myself anything but stupid little Beth, trotting about at home, or no use anywhere but there.  I never wanted to go away, and the hard part now is leaving you all.  I'm not afraid, but it seems as if I should be homesick for you even in heaven."  Beth in Little Women, Louisa Alcott
Our stories keep coming and we have much more to share with you on our blog:
